Orders Up!

Okay, so before I show you some of the recent orders, I wanted to share a picture that is very important to brownie-goose. The namesake, my 2 labs, Mallard & Lucy - who we call Brownie and Goose, are my life. I love them. You can see their photo on the right side of the blog under "brownie-goose namesake." That photo was taken back when we lived in Georgia and we had just recently rescued Goose, so she was like 6 or 7 months.........way before she grew into the 124 lb. horse she is now. Well, the other night, they were both sleeping on the same couch together again (the animals rule the house here) and I had to take the picture. Honestly, Lucy (Goose, the black lab on the left) could EAT Mallard (Brownie, the chocolate on the right). Crazy how they grow!

For sizes, I use Rabbit Skins blanks (some people say these run small) and will have sizes 12 mo to 5. I will no longer be doing applique on a onesie, until I get an embroidery machine - if that happens. The last onesie applique lead to a HUMONGO temper tantrum................

I can make it an outfit by adding shorts for the boys and girls, or a ruffle pant for the girls, $26. Just let me know in your order.

The John-John has arrived..........

Yep - much to the dismay of many fathers (trust me men, they ARE cute and it doesn't make them any less "manly") the John-John has landed at brownie-goose. Order them in time for summer when they look oh so cute with bare feet!

The John-Johns are completely lined and are finished off with fabric covered buttons (not shown on this example) and have snaps on the bottom. Check back as I will eventually get around to posting some photos........gosh, there just is not enough time in the day!

Spring Has Sprung.......for boys!

Here are just a few of the new Spring fabrics for boys. I am slowly getting them up on the blog and my website, and have yet to get down to business with the sewing machine to make samples! Keep checking me out here and at www.browniegoose.com for new styles and samples!

For these fabrics, I can do appliquéd shirts (long sleeve or short sleeve) to match as well as pants or shorts for the boys!

Home on the Range (pants are cuffed with black/white gingham and a pocket is added, shorts rimmed with black/white gingham - unless requested otherwise.)

Monkey Business

Outfit your little boy for monkey'ing around in this ensemble. It features brown monkeys on a turquoise blue background with orange spirals. In this example, I have paired it with brown corduroy but I also have an orange stripe that looks oh-so cute with the monkeys.

This shirt has a monkey appliqué, but the possibilities are endless. Initials, square block, etc.

Savannah Blue Crabs

Here is a shout-out to my roots in the Lowcountry. Luckily for us, this blue crab IS in season and it is not $20 a pound! How fun is this turquoise fabric with red crabs? Here, I have it paired with a red corduroy cuffed pants and an appliqued shirt.


I can applique an initial or do a square of fabric for you to have monogrammed, or whatever else you may want!

This fabric is in limited quantities, I talked with one of my suppliers that said they may get more back in the Spring, so order now! Please refer to the sizing chart at the bottom of my blog.

Snakes and Snails

So, I have a little girl. I always said I wasn't going to get into the whole pink thing - but I did. Louisa is always in pink and girly and all that goo that I said wouldn't be me. But I never realized until just recently how lost I would be if I had a boy. There are so few cute boy fabrics out there. Sure, you can find TONS of cowboy, firemen, airplanes, etc. But seriously.......our boys need to be just as fashionable as girls.

Here are a few of my new "boy" fabrics. I can do a solid pant with a pattern around the hem and a patterned pocket. I can also either initial a shirt with an appliqué or ask me, give me ideas for other appliqués (ie. frogs, dinosaurs, cowboy boots, caterpillars, etc) and I can see what I can do.

The fabrics are a navy blue solid with an Alexander Henry 2-D Zoo (which is by far one of my most faves ever!), a multi-colored blue stripe, a multi-colored blue stripe with brown and a geometric with blue. I can always do these with the light blue corduroy as seen in "Not your Mama's corduroy dress" or brown corduroy with the patterned edging and pockets.
